Easy to find ….

Take appropriate roads to Matlock Bath. This town is on the A6 in Derbyshire, 15 miles north of Derby. Cromford is half a mile south of Matlock. At the traffic lights, on the A6, take the minor road east signed to Holloway, Whatstandwell and Arkwright's Mill.

For the car park closest to the Pumphouse follow this road for approximately 1¼ miles and a car park and picnic area will be seen on the right.

The Pumphouse is about 300 meters from this car park - follow the footpath leaving from the corner to the south, over the river and the railway line, then left down the canal side. Do not cross the canal.

If you prefer a longer walk, about 1 mile each way, then park at one of the car parks adjacent to Arkwright's Mill and walk along the towing path to the left of the canal.
